What is SleekView?

SleekView is a novel, fast image viewing software with a thumbnail browser that offers great flexibility in organizing, viewing and printing your pictures.

SleekView presents a great way to enjoy your pictures, which we call the AlbumView. This feature simulates the real world album viewing experience for you with an extremely fast navigating method to browse through the images.

With SleekView, you also get the advantage of easy access of pictures. The pictures can all be viewed at one place in the form of thumbnails (or album frames) that can be dragged and dropped onto other windows.

You can also enjoy your pictures in different view modes with SleekView. It features slide-shows, full-screen views and different rotate and zoom levels for the images.

Please note that this does not affect the original picture files on your system. This means that you can enjoy your pictures in different views while keeping their corresponding files on the system intact!

The SleekView window holding the albums is detached from the main viewer so that you can easily move the albums around your screen to use them against other windows. These features, coupled with the album view, give you great flexibility in using your pictures on other windows.

Keeping your pictures intact.

We, at SleekTools, understand the significance of your pictures and the memories they hold for you. Keeping this in mind, we've designed SleekView in a way to not modify the original pictures on your system in any way.

SleekView only enhances the way you view your pictures, but does not modify your pictures in any way. Even if you shuffle your pictures in between albums in SleekView, the original picture files remain in their respective locations on your computer. This way, your original files are kept intact and in no way subject to any modifications from the SleekView tool. 

Before you start using SleekView, it's important to understand how it works with your computer. You'll use SleekView just like any other desktop software. SleekView runs on your local computer, which means you can work with the tool even when you're not connected to the Internet.

Getting Started

Thank you for choosing SleekView to organize and view your photos! This brief guide will you help you familiarize yourself with SleekView before you get started.

Sleek Interface

The following image shows the various sections of SleekView's interface. The main thumbnail panel shows all the images that were opened as thumbnails. Each image can be seen in its full on the Image Viewer window.

Please note that the thumbnail panel and the Image Viewer window are detached from each other for maximum flexibility. This way you can move your thumbnail panel around and use against other application windows!

The thumbnails are organized as albums within the Thumbnail panel. Each album can be distinguished with a green title bar that shows its name and a maximize/minimize button.

Opening Images

It's simple!

1. You can simply drag and drop your pictures onto SleekView window at any time and they are immediately opened within a new album.

2. You can also use the File->Open or the File->Open Folder menu options.

The File-Open menu option allows you to select one or more images to be opened. It automatically creates an album for these images and opens them within that album. You may later rearrange these pictures into different albums with simple drag and drop movements.

The File-OpenFolder menu option allows you to select a particular folder and opens all the Jpeg, Bitmap and Gif images within that folder and its sub-folders. This option also creates a new album for the folder (assigns the same name as that of the folder).

3. You can also add images to an already opened album by the following steps:

    (i). Right-click on the album header (the top region of the album with its name)

    (ii). In the menu that drops down, select "Add Images"

    (iii). Using the File Browser window that pops up, select the images to be added to the album and click "OK".

    (iv). You'll notice that the selected images are added to the album.

Viewing Full Images (Image Viewer)

The Image Viewer displays the full sized images.

Upon initial launch, the Image Viewer is not displayed. But, this window slides out into view as soon as a thumbnail is clicked on for full view. The Image Viewer can be resized at random just like a normal window on desktop.

Album View

SleekView offers a novel feature that simulates your real-world photo album viewing experience!

This view style stacks your images into pages of an album with up to one or two images per each page. You'll be able to browse through the album pages with simple mouse movement leading to an extremely fast navigation of the images.

The images are displayed on either side of each page of the album leading to a very compact area from which to access your images at high speeds.

The Album View has been carefully designed and artistically crafted using advanced Graphics to provide you with the most realistic view of your pictures. Now, you'll be able to organize and enjoy your pictures as in real photo albums!

Using this view in conjunction with the other features like expand/collapse and modifying thumbnail size lets you view a huge collection of pictures in a compact area. Thus, you'll have all your pictures at your fingertips!!

Working with Albums

Expand/Collapse an Album

You can expand or collapse all albums by clicking on the expand/collapse button displayed on the right corner of the title bar of that album. You may notice that the expand/collapse button is highlighted when you place the mouse over it.

The collapse option lets you shrink the albums that you do not wish to view at the moment, thereby creating space for the albums of interest at that moment.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the album title bar and select the expand/collapse option in the menu that is displayed there.

 

Change the view style of an Album

You can either view the thumbnail images arranged in rows (thumbnail view) or arranged in an album simulating your real-world experience (album view).

In order to switch between the two views, you can use the View->ViewStyle menu option.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the album title bar and select the "Switch to Album/Thumbnails view" option in the menu that is displayed there.

Change the number of pictures per page in the Album

Within the album view, you can either view one picture or two pictures per each page of the album. This feature is intended to provide you with more real-world album experience!

In order to change the number of pictures per each page of the album, you can use the View->Photos Per Page menu option.

You can also use the toolbar buttons to change the number of pictures per page.

Working with Thumbnails

As you move your mouse over the thumbnails, you'll notice that the current thumbnail in focus is highlighted in green. If you select a thumbnail by clicking on it, the selected thumbnail is highlighted in orange.

Change the Thumbnail size

You can view your thumbnails in three different sizes - small, medium and large. The default size is 'medium'. The 'small' size comes in handy when you are using SleekView as a toolbar from which you drag and drop images onto other application windows.

In order to change the size of the thumbnails, you can use the View->Thumbnail Size menu option. The change is applied to all the thumbnails in the SleekView window.

Enjoy different Image Views

The Image Viewer displays the full image of the selected thumbnail. This Viewer is not visible initially, but slides out into view once you select a thumbnail.

The Image Viewer can be resized like your regular windows and the image in view adjusts accordingly. Also, the Image Viewer can be moved around the screen for greater flexibility.

Apart from this regular view, there are a number of options to make your views more enjoyable:

 

Rotate Clockwise

You can rotate the image clockwise by clicking on the 'Rotate Right' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

Rotate Counter-Clockwise

You can rotate the image counter-clockwise by clicking on the 'Rotate Left' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

ZoomIn

You can zoom in by clicking on the 'Zoom In' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

ZoomOut

You can zoom out by clicking on the 'Zoom Out' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

View Full Image

You can view the original size of the image by clicking on the 'Original Size' icon on the Viewer toolbar. If the full image does not fit within the bounds of the Viewer, scroll-bars are made available to navigate through the complete picture.

View Best Fit

The best fit for the image within the current Viewer bounds can be viewed by clicking on the 'Best Fit' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

Stretch Image

You can stretch the image to fit the current Viewer bounds by clicking on the 'Stretch Image' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

Save Image

You can save the current image in the Viewer to a new file on your system by clicking on the 'Save' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

Print Image

You can print the current image in the Viewer using the 'Print' icon on the Viewer toolbar. The printout comes out exactly like the current view. In order to print the full image, you can use the Best Fit option to fit the image within the Viewer bounds and then print it out.

View Next Image

You can view the next image in the album by clicking on the 'Next Image' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

View Previous Image

You can view the previous image in the album by clicking on the 'Previous Image' icon on the Viewer toolbar.

Using SleekView with other Application Windows

The flexible interface of SleekView lets you use the thumbnail panel against other application windows on the desktop. The thumbnails from the panel can be simply dragged and dropped onto other windows with great ease.

The following image demonstrates the ease with which you can simply drag an image from SleekView onto a Microsoft Word document.

The thumbnail panel of SleekView is kept detached from the full Image Viewer so that you can move the panel around the screen to align it with your other application windows on which you wish to place your images.

Now, you don't have to go through the hassle of going back to your folders and copying and pasting an image each time. This avoids all the unnecessary switches between windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. How fast can I navigate through the images in SleekView?

As fast as you can move your mouse! With the Album View, the pages of the album are turned as you move your mouse across them. 2. I find several Image Viewing softwares out there and some of them are even free! Why should I use SleekView instead?

SleekView offers a novel interface (Album view) that saves you a lot of time and makes your image viewing experience all the more enjoyable. There is no other commercial or free software in the market today that provides such great flexibility and speed in viewing and using your pictures.

These features come on top of the regular options of slide-shows, full-screen views, etc. for an unbeatably low price!

3. What are the system requirements to run SleekView?

SleekView runs on any typical computer with Windows 2000 or higher operating systems (Windows XP Home, XP Professional, XP SP2). A minimum RAM of 256 MB and a CPU of 800 MHz should be sufficient to run SleekView.

SleekView requires the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework Redistributable, which is a free download available here. This framework is used in several Windows-based products and your system may already be having this framework. In case your system does not have this, the SleekView installation would prompt you about this and direct you to the download page for this.

4. Do I require any special graphics card or other hardware to use SleekView?

No! SleekView is built upon the advanced Graphics platform provided by your Microsoft Windows operating system. It does not require any special hardware to function.

5. How can I align and use my Thumbnails on another window?

The Thumbnail Panel (that comes with the main window) can be freely moved across your screen. You can reposition it beside any other window and start dragging and dropping images from the panel onto the other window.

6. How can I move my pictures around the albums? Does moving my pictures around in SleekView affect their original files on the system?

You can move your pictures around albums by simple dragging and dropping them from one place to another. This does not affect the original file location of that picture on your system. This way you can shuffle your pictures around for best organization and view without affecting the original files.

7. The File->OpenFolder opens all the Jpeg, Bitmap and Gif images in the folder. How can I open other image formats?

In order to open additional image formats, please use the album menu option of "Add Images". Please right-click on an album in SleekView, and click the "Add Images" option. Now, you can select the files of your choice. If, by mistake, you select files that are not images (documents, text files, etc.), SleekView would ignore such files and open only the image files.

8. How much does SleekView cost?
